October 22 (SeeNews) - The outstanding loans of Montenegro's banking sector increased to 3.99 billion euro ($4.59 billion) at the end of September, up 10.7% year-on-year, central bank data shows.
Loans to households rose by 10.7% year-on-year to 1.215 billion euro as at end-September, while loans to privately owned companies grew by 10.8% to 989.1 million euro, according to figures posted on the website of Montenegro's central bank, CBCG.
The total value of impairment of loans increased to 149 million euro at the end of September, from 118.9 million euro a year earlier.
Deposits with Montenegrin banks increased 10.3% year-on-year to 3.459 billion euro at end-September. The deposits of households grew by 9.3% to 1.309 billion euro.
The outstanding loans of Montenegro's banking sector totaled 2.701 billion euro at the end of 2017, up 11.8% year-on-year.
