April 18 (SeeNews) - Montenegrin mobile operators Crnogorski Telekom, Telenor and M:tel invested a total of 82 million euro ($92.3 million) in the development of their networks last year, the national telecommunications regulator, EKIP, said.
The total investments of Montenegrin electronic communication companies last year amounted to 91.5 million euro, EKIP said in a statement on Wednesday.
At the end of 2018, the number of base stations which enable LTE technology of Telenor operator amounted to 364, while Crnogorski Telekom and M:tel had 254 and 140 of them, respectively, EKIP said.
Montenegro's electronic communication companies invested 250 million euro ($281.8 million) in the development of their networks in the country during 2016-2018, EKIP said in March. As a result of the investments, the number of broadband Internet users had risen 65.77% since 2014 to 157,776 at the end of 2018, EKIP said back then.
Telenor had a 34.77% share of the overall number of subscribers at the end of 2018, followed by M:tel with 32.67% and Crnogorski Telekom with 32.56%.
