January 17 (SeeNews) - Moldova's trade deficit narrowed by 5.5% on the year in the first eleven months of 2023, reaching $4.121 billion (3.79 billion euro), the statistical office, BNS, said.
The country's exports fell 6.2% year-on-year in the eleven months through November, while imports decreased by 5.8%, BNS said in a press release on Tuesday.
The European Union absorbed 65.2% of Moldova's exports between January and November and accounted for 48.5% of the country's imports.
In November alone, Moldova's exports increased by an annual 6.7% to $379.1 million, while imports fell by 14.7% to $732.2 million, resulting in a trade deficit of $353.1 million, down 29.8% year-on-year.
