December 15 (SeeNews) - Moldova's trade deficit narrowed by 2.3% on the year in the first ten months of 2023, reaching $3.768 billion (3.447 billion euro), the statistical office said on Friday.
The country's exports fell 7.5% year-on-year in the ten months through October, while imports decreased by 4.8%.
The European Union absorbed 64.7% of Moldova's exports between January and October and accounted for 48.6% of the country's imports.
In October alone, Moldova's exports increased by an annual 2.9% to $341.8 million, while imports fell by 5% to $713.7 million, resulting in a trade deficit of $371.9 million, down 6.8% year-on-year.
