September 3 (SeeNews) - Moldova's unemployment rate decreased to 3% in the second quarter of 2018 from 3.5% in the prior-year period, the country's statistical bureau said on Monday.
The number of unemployed in the country of 3.5 million people was 40,900 at the end of June, the statistical bureau said in a statement.
Moldova's workforce increased by 5.2% on the year to 1.384 million people in the second quarter.
Unemployment among men in Moldova was 3.2% versus 2.8% among women. The jobless rate was 5.6% in urban areas and 1.1% in rural areas.
Moldova's unemployment rate edged down to 4.1% in 2017 from 4.2% a year earlier.
