July 15 (SeeNews) - Moldova's trade deficit widened by 8.5% on the year to $1.7 billion (1.69 billion euro) in the first five months of 2022, the country's statistics bureau said on Friday.
Moldova's exports soared 170% on the year, while imports increased by 33.9% in the first five months of the year, the statistics office said in a statement.
In May alone, exports surged 106% on the year to $416.1 million, while imports rose 18.6% to $747.3 million. May trade deficit narrowed by an annual 1.4% to $356.5 million.
