May 25 (SeeNews) - Moldova's construction output rose by an annual 8% in the first quarter of 2020, the country's statistical office, BNS, said,.
The value of all construction works performed under contract during January-March 2020 reached 1.5 billion lei ($84 million/76 million euro), BNS said in a press release on Friday.
New construction works constituted 65.4% of the total volume of works executed in January-March 2020, amounting to 988.1 million lei. New construction works volume rose by an annual 21.2% in the first quarter.
During January-March 2020, capital repair and maintenance works decreased by 10.9% and 11.6% respectively, compared to the level recorded in January-March 2019.
The volume of works performed on residential buildings during January-March increased by 15.4%, on non-residential buildings by 6.2% and on engineering constructions by 2.1% .
