September 22 (SeeNews) - The Romanian arm of Swedish healthcare chain Medicover said on Thursday it has completed the acquisition of local network of clinics Laurus Medical.
The acquisition marks Medicover Romania's entry on new regional markets in cities like Suceava, Focsani, Buzau and Deva, the company said in a press release.

The acquisition is part of a 16 million euro ($16.8 million) deal which also included Polish clinics Allenrot, announced by the Medicover Group in May.
The company did not disclose the individual value of its acquisition of Laurus Medical.
Laurus Medical is a chain of ten clinics in Romania. The network covers numerous medical specialisations.
The Medicover Group is a NASDAQ Sweden-listed international chain of private healthcare clinics. The company operates clinics across Europe and India and employs over 38,000.
In January, Medicover Romania announced the acquisition of private hospital Polaris Medical in Cluj-Napoca and of a majority stake in local Mediplus Clinic chain.
