August 24 (SeeNews) - Macedonian fuel retailer Makpetrol [MSE:MPT] said on Friday that its consolidated net profit rose sharply to 326.6 million denars ($6.2 million/5.3 million euro) in the first half of 2018 from 114.6 million denars in the same period of last year, following a 13% increase in operating revenue.
Makpetrol generated a total operating revenue of 9.75 billion denars in the first six months of the year, which compares to 8.60 million denars in the corresponding period of 2017, figures from the company's interim financial statement showed.
The company's sales revenue on the domestic market increased 12% year-on-year to 9.22 billion, while sales abroad added 39% to 481.9 million denars.
The fuel retailer's total operating expenses grew by 11% on the year to 9.44 billion denars, as cost of goods sold rose 12% to 8.42 billion denars.
Makpetrol has a network of over a hundred fuel stations across Macedonia. The company also has units in neighbouring Serbia and Greece.
Makpetrol shares closed 0.64% higher at 45,449.48 denars on the Macedonian Stock Exchange on Friday.
