September 15 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's economy expanded by a real 4.3% in the second quarter of 2014, compared to a 1.3% increase a year earlier, figures of the country's statistics office indicated.
Macedonia's gross domestic product (GDP) totalled 135.7 billion denars ($2.9 billion/2.2 billion euro) at current prices in the second quarter, compared to 128 billion denars a year earlier, the statistics office said in a statement on Friday citing estimated figures.
In the first quarter, Macedonia's economy expanded by a revised 3.5% in real terms, compared to a contraction of a revised 0.5% a year earlier.
In 2013 Macedonia's economy expanded by a revised 2.2% in real terms, after contracting by 0.4% a year earlier.
