July 7 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's trade deficit increased by 19.4% year-on-year to 367.8 million euro ($375.1 million) in May, the country's statistical office said.
Exports rose by 31.5% year-on-year to 76 million euro, while imports increased by 21.3% to 443.8 million euro in May, the statistical office said in a statement.
Kosovo's main export destinations in May were the North Macedonia, the U.S. and Albania. Base metals, various manufactured articles and plastics and rubber products were Kosovo's main export items.
Mineral products, machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment and food products made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in May. Most of the imports originated in Turkey, Germany and China.
Kosovo's trade deficit increased by 38.3% year-on-year to 3.9 billion euro in 2021.
