March 25 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's gross electricity production amounted to 842.7 GWh in January 2024, up 0.39% compared to the same month in 2023, the national statistical office, ASK, said.
Thermal power plants produced 567.1 GWh of electricity, wind and solar plants generated 47.4 GWh, while hydro plants produced 23.6 GWh in January, ASK said in a statement last week.
Kosovo was a net electricity importer in January, with net imports amounting to 396.5 GWh, up 14% on the year. Total electricity exports grew 12% on the year to 192 GWh.
Coal production amounted to 6,890 tonnes in January, down 13% from the prior-year period.
