June 16 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's gross domestic product (GDP) rose by a real 4.87% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022, after increasing by 6.36% in the previous three-month period, the statistical office said.
Measured at current prices, Kosovo's GDP totaled 1.74 billion euro ($1.8 billion) in the January-March period, the Kosovo Agency of Statistics said in a statement on Wednesday.
The sectors that had the biggest positive contribution to Kosovo's economic growth in the first quarter of 2022 were wholesale and retail trade, transportation, accommodation and food service activities, financial and insurance activities and mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity and water supply.
Kosovo's economy expanded by 10.53% in 2021, after shrinking by 4.14% the year before.
