March 27 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's state-owned energy corporation, KEK, signed an agreement with the European Union and Germany for the financing of a project for the development of a 100 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant near Pristina, Kosovo energy minister Artane Rizvanolli said.
KEK will provide 10 million euro to co-finance the project estimated to cost 103.7 million euro, to be developed in the Obiliq area, near the Kosovo capital city, Rizvanolli said in a social media post on Tuesday.
The EU is providing a grant of 32 million euro through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), as well as a 33 million euro investment loan via the European Investment Bank (EIB), whereas Germany will provide a 29 million euro loan through its development bank KfW, EIB said earlier this month.
The plant, with a peak capacity of 120 MW, according to the EIB, is set to produce 169 GWh of electricity annually.
