August 18 (SeeNews) - Officials at Kosovo’s ministry of industry, entrepreneurship and trade (MINT) have been arrested on charges of abuse of power, the state prosecutor’s office said on Friday.
The officials, only identified by their name initials, were arrested at their offices, the prosecutor's office said in a press release.
In a separate press release, the ministry said Hafiz Gara, head of the state reserves department at the MINT, and Irfan Lipovica, head of the European integration department, were detained by the prosecuting authority.
According to local media reports, misuse of state reserves of oil and wheat was the reason for the arrests. News provider Dukagjini reported that local businessman Ridvan Muharremi was also arrested for collaborating with the trade ministry officials.
