September 23 (SeeNews) - Kosovo furniture producer Berto, better known as Ciao Berto, is investing 300,000 euro ($292,760) to expand its production facilities and buy new equipment, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which provided part of the financing, said.
"This 300,000 euro investment was financed with a loan under the Kosovo SME Competitiveness Support Programme, a credit line provided by the EBRD through local partner banks, together with a 15% grant and free technical assistance funded by the European Union," EBRD said in press release on Thursday.
Berto’s investment also included energy-efficient equipment, electrical installation, and the latest-generation machines to support a healthy working environment, it added.
Ciao Berto was established in the '90s. It currently employs over 200 people and operates a 10,000 sq m production plant in Pristina.
