PRISTINA (Kosovo), February 12 (SeeNews) – The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector fell to 86.2 million euro ($94.1 million) last year, from 87.0 million euro in 2018, the country's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks expanded by 10.0% year-on-year to 3.03 billion euro at the end of December, the central bank said in a monthly report on Monday.
Deposits increased by 16.2% on the year, reaching 3.9 billion euro at the end of December.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets grew to 4.76 billion euro as at the end of December from 4.2 billion euro in 2018.
Return on assets (ROA) fell to 2.2%, from 2.5%. Return on equity also dropped, to 18.9% from 20.2%.
The figures comprise the financial results of ten banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
