July 8 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector increased to 56.4 million euro ($57.3 million) in the first five months of 2022, from 43.9 million euro in the same period of last year, the country's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks expanded 17.6% year-on-year to 4 billion euro as at the end of May, the central bank said in a monthly report on Thursday.
Deposits grew by 8.1% on the year, reaching 4.8 billion euro at the end of May.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets totalled 5.9 billion euro at the end of May, compared with 5.5 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets increased to 2.6% from 2.3% and return on equity rose to 22.1% from 19.2%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 11 banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
