PRISTINA (Kosovo), August 13 (SeeNews) – The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector edged down to 40.3 million euro ($45.2 million) in the first half of 2019, from 40.5 million euro in the like period of last year, Kosovo's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks expanded by 10.5% year-on-year to 2.94 billion euro at the end of June, the central bank said in a monthly report last week.
Deposits increased by 11.0% on the year, reaching 3.43 billion euro at the end of June.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets grew to 4.3 billion euro as at the end of June from 3.9 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets (ROA) fell to 1.9%, from 2.3%. Return on equity also dropped, to 16.4% from 18.4%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 10 Kosovo banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
