May 20 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's government has decided to allocate 20 million euro ($21.9 million) for subsidising public enterprises in financial difficulties due to the coronavirus pandemic, the prime minister's office said.
The funding, part of the country's emergency fiscal relief package, aims to ensure the liquidity of the public enterprises during the crisis, the prime minister's office said in a statement on Tuesday following a government meeting.
Kosovo's government last week approved the allocation of 10.9 million euro to support businesses and individuals affected by the coronavirus crisis as part of its emergency fiscal relief package.
The country has confirmed 989 coronavirus cases, including 29 deaths as of Wednesday, health ministry data shows.
The government also approved the national programme for the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) 2020-2024, the statement reads. This is the fifth programme within the SAA signed between the European Union and Kosovo. The agreement entered into force in 2016.
