The Velika Ciglena project, situated in Bjelovar, northeastern Croatia, exploits geothermal steam and hot water at 170 degrees Celsius to produce electricity to feed the local grid. After only four days of commissioning, the plant carried out the nominal load test, Turboden said.
"The strong commitment of Turboden in realising dependable and efficient geothermal solutions has been confirmed by the implementation of the nominal test in a short time," the CEO of the Italian company, Paolo Bertuzzi, said.
The project received the Best Innovation Award for its innovative design by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in 2016.
