October 11 (SeeNews) - Italian company Leitner has expressed interest in investing 20 million euro ($22 million) in the construction of a gondola lift in Montenegro, the Montenegrin government said.
The gondola lift would connect the coastal town of Kotor to the Njegusi village in the Lovcen national park and Leitner will finance the construction with own resources, the government said in a statement on Thursday after a meeting of prime minister Dusko Markovic with Martin Leitner, a board member of the Italian company.
The gondola lift cabins will be designed by Italian car design company Pininfarina, Martin Leitner said at the meeting.
In May 2018, Montenegro’s government signed a 12 million euro contract with Leitner for the construction of two cableways in the municipality of Bijelo Polje. The construction works are expected to be completed in November 2019.
