September 16 (SeeNews) - Romanian energy company Hoopeks International plans to build a wind park with a total installed capacity of 629.2 MW in Galati, eastern Romania, data from electricity transmission system operator Transelectrica showed.
The wind farm should start to produce energy at the end of 2025, according to data posted on Transelectrica's website.

Hoopeks received the grid connection technical approval on August 26.
Currently, Fantanele-Cogealac, developed by Czech electricity distributor CEZ, is the largest wind farm in Romania and in Europe, with an installed capacity of 600 MW from 240 turbines.
Hoopeks International was founded in 2014 and operates in the electric energy production sector. The company narrowed its net loss to 62,285 lei ($12,614/12,645 euro) in 2021, from 193,088 lei in 2020, according to data posted on the finance ministry's website.
