August 16 (SeeNews) - Serbia's central bank, expects domestic fuel prices to stabilise around their current level, after rising by around 10% in the 12 months to August, the head of the bank's projections department, Marko Djukic, said.
"The rise of fuel prices in Serbia was a direct consequence of the global increase of crude oil price," Djukic said in a video file posted on the website of news agency Tanjug on Wednesday.
In the period between July 2017 and August 2018, the crude oil price in dinars rose by 45%, while on the Serbian market the cost of fuel grew by between 9% and 10%, he noted.
The average retail price of fuel and motor oil in Serbia rose by 3.3% on the year in the first seven months of 2018, according to data from the country's statistical institute.
