August 5 (SeeNews) - French railway maintenance equipment producer Geismar plans to deliver five heavy-duty motorcars to Serbian state-owned company Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije by January 2020, Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije said.
The French company has started the transportation of the first motorcar from its factory in Italy and it is expected to be delivered to Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije in Belgrade by August 11, the Serbian company said in an e-mailed statement on Sunday.
In January 2018, Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije signed a 4.5 million euro ($5.0 million) deal with Geismar for the delivery of five heavy-duty motorcars. The project is being financed with a credit from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije was established as a joint stock company in 2015, as part of reorganisation implemented in railway operator Zeleznice Srbije which saw the unbundling of its sectors into separate companies.
