LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), May 24 (SeeNews) – A total of 217,024 foreign tourists visited Slovenia in March, down 2.0% year-on-year, the state statistical office said on Friday, citing final data.
Overnight stays by international visitors fell 2.7% to 496,430, the statistical office said in a statement.
The number of domestic tourists increased by 10.3% to 124,156, taking the total number of tourists in March to 341,180, up 2.1%.

The total number of tourist overnights in the review period rose to 825,203, up 0.9% compared to March 2018.
The markets from which most foreign tourists came to Slovenia in March were Italy (16%), Austria (12%), Croatia (8%), Germany (7%) and Hungary (6%).
Around 244,000, or 30% of all overnight stays were spent in spa resorts, followed by 21% in mountain resorts.
In 2018, tourist arrivals to Slovenia increased 7.8% to 5,933,266, while overnight stays added 10.5% to 15,694,705.
