July 12 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to North Macedonia totalled 48,978 in May, significantly higher compared with 17,527 in the same month a year earlier, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in North Macedonia jumped to 99,742 in May 2022 from 41,204 in May 2021, Makstat said in a statement.
Out of the total number of foreign tourists who visited North Macedonia in May, 15.9% came from Turkey, 13.1% from Serbia and 6.2% from Bulgaria.
Domestic tourists numbered 22,649 in May, up from 18,993 in May 2021, as they spent 53,944 overnights, up from 38,209 a year earlier.
