April 30 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists visiting Bulgaria rose 6.0% year on year to 555,600 in March, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday.
Citizens of EU member states made up 48.3% of all arrivals of international visitors in March, the NSI said in a monthly report on tourist numbers.
Vacation trips made up 38.8% of all foreign tourist visits in March, while business trips accounted for 20.1%.
The number of people who visited friends or relatives in Bulgaria or just transited the country constituted 41.1% of all arrivals of foreign nationals in March.
In March, most foreign visitors came from Romania, Greece and Turkey.
