November 28 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists visiting Bulgaria rose by an annual 3.8% to 739,300 in October, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Wednesday.
Citizens of EU member states accounted for 55.5% of all arrivals of international visitors in October, the NSI said in a monthly report on tourist numbers.
Vacation trips made up 34.9% of all foreign tourist visits in October, while business trips accounted for 19.1%.
The number of people who visited friends or relatives in Bulgaria or just transited the country constituted 46.0% of all arrivals of foreign nationals in October.
In October, the largest share of foreign tourists came from Germany, Romania and Turkey.
