October 6 (SeeNews) - A total of 71 foreign cruise ships made 442 journeys to Croatian seaports in the first eight months of this year, rebounding from the same period of last year when only 15 cruises visited the Adriatic country on 85 journeys due to COVID-19-related restrictions, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
There were some 423,600 passengers on board the cruise ships that visited Croatia in January-August 2022, up from some 86,000 in the same period of last year, the statistical office said in a monthly report.
Compared to the same period of 2019, the number of journeys of foreign cruise vessels was lower by 5.2% in January-August 2022, and the number of passengers on board on those vessels was down 42.2%.
In the first eight months of this year, foreign cruise ships on journeys to Croatia visited the port of Dubrovnik 288 times, Split followed with 183 visits, Zadar with 101 ones and Hvar with 70 visits.
