February 2 (SeeNews) - Romanian power producer Hidroelectrica [BSE:H2O] said a fire occurred at its Iron Gate hydropower plant, located on the Danube River between Romania and Serbia, on the evening of February 1 and was promptly extinguished by the fire brigade.
There were no victims.

The fire broke out at a transformer associated with hydroaggregate number five, leading to the temporary suspension of adjacent groups, which will resume operations once safety conditions are fully met, Hidroelectrica said in a press release on Thursday.
The company said it would evaluate the damage, taking all the necessary measures to restore normal working conditions.
“Hidroelectrica will transparently inform the public about the causes of the incident and provide updated information as it becomes available,” the company said.
The operation of the national energy system was not affected by the incident.
Hidroelectrica operates 187 hydropower facilities and a wind power plant totalling an installed capacity of 6.48 GW, according to data posted on its website.
Hidroelectrica shares traded 0.94% higher at 128.3 lei as at 1403 CET on Friday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
