August 31 (SeeNews) - Foreign direct investment (FDI) into North Macedonia totalled 289.1 million euro ($288.9 million) the first half of 2022, compared to a net inflow of 267.3 million euro in the like period of 2021, central bank data showed on Wednesday.
In the second quarter alone, FDI inflow into Macedonia amounted to 156.3 million euro, as compared to an FDI inflow of 220.2 million euro in the same period a year earlier, according to the central bank data.
In the second quarter of 2022, FDI inflow increased mainly as a result of increased net-inflows from reinvestment of earnings and equity and to a lesser extent due to intercompany lending, the central bank said.
In 2021, FDI into Macedonia totalled 512 million euro, up from 239.8 million euro in 2020.
