April 5 (SeeNews) - Czech real estate developer CTP said that it has leased 3,600 sq m of production space at an industrial park it owns in Romania's western city of Oradea to Asian electronic manufacturing services (EMS) company Etron Technology which is seeking to extend its global footprint by establishing a high-tech production plant in Europe.
Etron decided to set up operations in Romania to attract more business opportunities from partners in the European Union, as demand from multinationals looking to ‘nearshore’ the production of their goods destined for European markets is on the rise, CTP said in a press release on Wednesday.
The EMS maker is present in China, Vietnam, Mexico and Singapore, as per the press release. Eltron's new facility at CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal will primarily focus on surface mount technology and mechanical inspection production line with testing and assembly.
"Romania’s partial integration into the Schengen Area, along with its expanding air and sea transport networks, enhances its status as a production hub, supported by competitive advantages like skilled labour, digital innovation, and favorable tax rates, driving economic growth and investment," CTP said.
CTP is a full-service commercial real estate developer which builds, manages and delivers custom-built, high-tech business parks throughout Central and Eastern Europe. The company owns industrial and logistics space with a total area of over 2.6 million sq m in more than 15 cities in Romania, its second largest market.
