Rebegea will also be responsible for the company's sales teams in Romania and neighbouring Moldova, Ericsson Romania said in a press release.
"Romania is one of the most dynamic telecommunication markets in Europe. I am excited to be able to lead a highly talented local team, helped by a portfolio of 4G, 5G, cloud and top IoT [internet of things] solutions, bringing my contribution to the digital transformation of Romania and Moldova, thus contributing to the development of the economy in both countries," Rebegea said.
With more than 21 years of experience in the telecom industry, of which the last 17 at Ericsson, Rebegea has held numerous leading positions in the Southeastern Europe in technical sales and general management. Between 2012 and 2015, he was Ericsson Albania's country manager.
