March 30 (SeeNews) - Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the country has suspended all international flights in an effort to contain the coronavirus outbreak, local media reported.
"All international flights have been suspended for an indefinite period," Anadolu news agency quoted Erdogan as saying in an address to the nation on Friday.
Turkey's health minister Fahrettin Koca said that the number of coronavirus cases in Turkey has risen to 9,217 as of Sunday, with confirmed deaths from the infection reaching 131, local Sabah Daily reported.
In Southeast Europe, Turkey has air transport links to Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia, Greece, Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Moldova.
