February 29 (SeeNews) - Romanian power supplier and distributor Electrica [BSE:EL] said its shares were admitted for inclusion in several indices of global equity index provider FTSE Russell.
The company's shares will start trading as part of the FTSE Russell Indices on March 18, Electrica said in a press release on Wednesday.
FT Russel's index committee decided on February 27 that Electrica had met the capitalization criterion throughout 2023 and passed the liquidity test in ten of the twelve months of the year. Its shares will be included in the Mid Cap category of the FTSE Global Equity Index series (GEIS), which comprises the FTSE All-World, FTSE Global All-Cap, and FTSE Global Total-Cap indices.
Electrica's inclusion in the FTSE Russel Indices comes ten years after its successful IPO and listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
"Electrica's shares inclusion into the FTSE Russell Indices is a remarkable achievement, which honors us and makes us accountable at the same time, an achievement we owe to all our investors, this year, when we celebrate 10 years from the admission to trading," Electrica CEO, Alexandru-Aurelian Chirita, said.
Electrica's shares traded flat at 11.8 lei ($2.57/2.37 euro) as at 0926 CET on Thursday on the Bucharest bourse.
