September 6 (SeeNews) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) is providing an additional 100 million euro ($99.695 million) investment loan to North Macedonia in support of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a focus on the green economy, the country's finance ministry said.
The funding is expected to be available by the end of the year, the ministry said in a notice on Monday.
To date, the EIB has provided 246.9 million euro to public sector projects in North Macedonia. In 2021, the EIB provided 100 million euro to state-owned Development Bank of North Macedonia for loans to local SMEs and mid-caps to finance their recovery from the pandemic.
