PRISTINA (Kosovo), September 17 (SeeNews) – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it is considering a sovereign loan of up to 32 million euro ($35.3 million) to co-finance the construction of an inner ring road in Kosovo capital Pristina.
The project for the construction of the 26 km long road will be co-financed with a sovereign loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB), the EBRD said in a press release on Monday.
The project's total cost is 95.5 million euro.
The new road is expected to improve the city's integration into the pan-European corridors by providing better access and connections, the air quality in the city by reducing congestion and road safety and standards by diverting cargo traffic from the city centre.
The project has passed concept review and has a target board date of October 30 for final review.
