May 11 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union (EU) will provide a 6 million euro ($6.3 million) financial package to Kosovo to support projects for improving the energy efficiency of public buildings in the city of Prizren, the bank said.
The EBRD will lend Kosovo 5 million euro, whereas the EU will provide a 1 million euro investment grant for the project, the EBRD said in a press release on Tuesday.
The grant is secured from the Regional Energy Efficiency Programme, run by the EBRD and supported by the EU, bilateral donors and beneficiary countries.
The financial package will fund measures for improving energy efficiency in public buildings such as kindergartens, schools and primary healthcare facilities.
