October 31 (SeeNews) - The Albanian subsidiary of German building material manufacturer Deutsch Color received 2.4 million euro ($2.54 million) in insurance claims for the damage caused by a fire at its production plant in Durres in September, local insurance company Albsig said on Tuesday.
The facility suffered a significant damage, and the considerable amount of compensation required Albsig to turn to German re-insurance company Hanover Re, the Albanian insurer said in a social media post.
Back in September, Albanian media reported that the fire was triggered by an explosion inside the facility during night time, avoiding any damage to individuals.
Established in 2012, Deutsch Color Albania is active in the import, export, and trading of construction materials, including mortars and paints, as well as real estate transactions and chemical testing services.
