March 18 (SeeNews) - Albania’s air traffic operator Albcontrol said it has awarded Czech Republic’s surveillance solutions provider Era a one-year contract worth 220 million leks ($2.3 million/2.1 million euro) for new airport surveillance infrastructure for the airfield traffic management areas of the Tirana airport and the future airport in Vlora.
Era won in a price-based contest, with an offer priced below the estimated budget of 250 million leks, Albcontrol said in a notice last week.
The winning bidder must integrate systems, install data network cabling, deploy monitoring equipment, certify sensors, and issue acceptance testing certificates in accordance with aviation regulations, Albcontrol said earlier.
The airport of Vlora is cunder construction and is expected to start operations in March 2025, Albanian infrastructure ministry has said.
Era, a member of the aerospace services provider Omnipol Group in Prague, specializes in advanced surveillance and reconnaissance technologies, according to its website.
