September 4 (SeeNews) - Czech power utility CEZ has joined the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) and will trade on both the day-ahead market and the intraday market, IBEX said.
"We welcome the accession of CEZ a.s. along with the current market participants from large international companies, that recognize IBEX as a reliable partner on the European energy market", Konstantin Konstantinov, executive director of IBEX, said in a statement on Tuesday.
CEZ is the 68th participant on the day-ahead market and the 51st one on the intraday market.
In June, CEZ signed a 335 million euro ($368.9 million) deal to sell its assets in Bulgaria to financial and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:4EH].
CEZ's assets in Bulgaria comprise power utility CEZ Distribution Bulgaria [BUL:3CZ], power supplier CEZ Electro Bulgaria [BUL:1CZ], licensed electricity trader CEZ Trade Bulgaria, IT services company CEZ ICT Bulgaria, solar park Free Energy Project Oreshetz, biomass-fired power plant Bara Group and CEZ Bulgaria.
The deal has not yet been cleared by Bulgaria's Commission for Protection of Competition.
