November 5 (SeeNews) - The production of crude steel by seven countries of Southeast Europe (SEE) rose by 17.9% on the year to 3.677 million tonnes in the first nine months of 2018, according to data of the World Steel Association.
Serbia was the largest producer of crude steel among the listed SEE countries in the first nine months of 2018, with output of 1.457 million tonnes, up 33.7% on the year, figures from the World Steel Association's monthly crude steel production report for September show.
Slovenia came second with production of 510,000 tonnes in the first nine months of 2018, up from 481,000 tonnes in the like period of last year.
Moldova marked the highest rate of increase of crude steel production in the first nine months among the seven SEE countries, of 40.3% to 502,000 tonnes.
