October 4 (SeeNews) - Following a brief rebound on Friday, on Monday the main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) declined on losses of most of the blue chips, as turnover was halved, data showed.
The 22-share CROBEX fell 0.58% to end at 1,895.28 points. The narrower index CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, lost 0.42% to end at 1,122.96 points.
In regular trading, shipping company Tankerska Next Generation [ZSE:TPNG], which is part of the CROBEX, but not a constituent of the CROBEX10, generated the biggest daily turnover of 1.3 million kuna ($170,000/173,000 euro). Its shares fell 1.30% to finish at 75.80 kuna, after strong gains in the previous few trading sessions. On Thursday, its peer Tankerska Plovidba announced that it intends to make a voluntary tender offer to the minority shareholders of Tankerska Next Generation for the remaining 8.59% interest that it does not already own.
Second by turnover ranked food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR], as its shares advanced 1.08% to close at 562 kuna in a turnover of 1.2 million kuna.
Shares of Zagrebacka banka [ZSE: ZABA] dropped 3.73% to close at 62 kuna in a turnover of 886,500 kuna. On Friday, its majority shareholder, Italian banking group UniCredit, will purchase from Allianz SE the latter's entire 11.72% stake in Zagrebacka Banka.
In lower turnovers, shipping company Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL] fell 2.31%, index heavyweight Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] went down 1.39%, hotel owners and managers Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] and Arena Hopsitality [ZSE:ARNT] dropped 1.74% and 1.03% respectively.
The bourse's total trading turnover fell to 5.3 million kuna from 10.8 million kuna on Friday.
