September 9 (SeeNews) - The main equity index of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE), the CROBEX, rebounded on Friday on strong gains in the shipping companies, bourse data showed.
The 22-share blue-chip index, the CROBEX, added 0.10% to close at 1,983.11 points. The narrower CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, stagnated for a second day in a row at 1,184.89 points.
The most traded company on Friday was shipping company Tankerska Next Generation [ZSE:TPNG]. In regular trading, its shares surged 8.93% to end at 61 kuna in a turnover of 745,800 kuna ($99,600/99,100 euro). Moreover, in a 14.1 million kuna block deal, 213,600 of its shares changed hands at a price of 66 kuna per share. Tankersa is a constituent of the broader equity index but is not included in the narrower one.
Car parts maker AD Plastik [ZSE:ADPL] ranked second by turnover in regular trading with 440,000 kuna. Its shares fell 0.99% to end at 80 kuna.
Another shipping company, blue chip Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL], rose 3.20% to end at 419 kuna in a turnover of 267,000 kuna.
Shares of index heavyweight blue chip ICT solutions provider Ericsson Nikola Tesla [ZSE:ERNT] dipped 0.61% to end at 1,630 kuna in a turnover of 284,000 kuna.
In lower turnovers, shares of shipping companies Alpha Adriatic [ZSE:ULPL] and Jadroplov [ZSE:JDPL] appreciated 7.77% and 1.69% respectively. Both companies are members of the CROBEX.
The bourse's total trading turnover soared to 18.5 million kuna on Friday boosted by the block deal with Tankerska's shares, compared to a total trading turnover of just 3.1 million kuna on Thursday.
