September 23 (SeeNews) - The main equity index of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE), the CROBEX, ended lower on Friday, extending its losing streak a sixth day, bourse data showed.
The 22-share CROBEX lost 0.24% to close at 1,969.44 points. The narrower index CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, declined 0.36% to close at 1,170.21 points, after a brief recovery on Thursday.
Shipping company Tankerska Next Generation [ZSE:TPNG], which is part of the CROBEX, but not a constituent of the CROBEX10, was the most traded share on Friday with a turnover of 3.0 million kuna ($388,000/399,000 euro). Its shares gained 2.46% to end at 75 kuna, following several block deals with huge turnovers in the previous two trading sessions.
Shipping company Tankerska Plovidba said on Friday it acquired shareholding interest of some 11% in its peer Tankerska Next Generation in three transactions on Wednesday.
Second by turnover on Friday ranked hotel owner Turisthotel [ZSE:TUHO], which is not part of the share indices. Its shares dropped 2.36% to end at 4,140 kuna in a turnover of 1.1 million kuna.
Shares of hotel owner and operator Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] added 0.32% to end at 31.10 kuna in a turnover of 1.0 million kuna.
In lower turnovers, blue chip ICT solutions provider Ericsson Nikola Tesla [ZSE:ERNT] shed 2.50%, food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR] fell 1.04% and hotel owner and operator Arena Hospitality [ZSE:ARNT] dropped 3.23%.
The bourse's total trading turnover fell to 11 million kuna from 99.1 million kuna on Thursdays, when it was boosted by two block deals for 92 million kuna.
