September 26 (SeeNews) - Trading in the shares of Croatian confectionery producer Kras [ZSE:KRAS] contributed one third of the total turnover on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) on Thursday, as their price fell slightly, bourse data showed.
Kras closed at 1,050 kuna, down 0.94%, in a turnover of 11.4 million kuna, data posted on the ZSE website showed.
On Wednesday, Cyprus-registered Kappa Star, which is owned by Serbian businessman Nebojsa Saranovic, said it has raised its stake in Kras to 16.7% from 12.46%.
On September 9, Croatian meat producer Braca Pivac said it plans to launch a joint buyout bid with local trading company Kras-ESOP for the remaining stake of 50.82% in Kras the two firms do not own among themselves yet.
The company's shares were trading below the 400 kuna mark before the buyout plans were announced.
On Tuesday, Cyprus-registered Kappa Star, which is owned by Serbian businessman Nebojsa Saranovic, said it has raised its stake in Kras to 12.46% from 5.35%.
The ZSE share indices rose on Thursday, as shipbuilding company Viktor Lenac [ZSE:VLEN] led the blue-chip gainers, for a second day in a row, bourse data showed.
Viktor Lenac closed 5.61% higher at 5.65 kuna.
Diversified holding Djuro Djakovic [ZSE:DDJH], was the biggest blue-chip loser on Thursday, as its share price fell 7.4% to 7.26 kuna.
Food producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR] contributed the biggest portion of trading turnover among the blue chips on Thursday, of 5.9 million kuna. The company's shares closed 4.96% higher at 487 kuna.
ZSE's total trading turnover fell to 35.3 million kuna ($5.2 million/4.8 million euro), from 44.1 million kuna on Wednesday.
The 25-share benchmark CROBEX index rose by 1.29% to 1,959.70 after growing 0.60% in the previous trading session.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, increased by 1.69% to 1,161.49 after advancing 0.69% on Wednesday.
The fixed-income CROBIS index lost 0.09% to 116.9053.
