October 11 (SeeNews) - Croatian retailer Konzum, a member of ailing concern Agrokor, reported earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 341.2 million kuna ($53.3 million/46 million euro) in the eight months through August, above the 227.4 million kuna plan, Agrokor said on Thursday.
Konzum's EBITDA margin was 5.7% and revenues totalled 5.996 billion kuna, Agrokor said in an interim financial statement quoting preliminary figures.
Total revenue is slightly above plan due to a higher number of transactions.
Overall, the companies in Agrokor's retail and wholesale segment, which also includes Konzum's Bosnian unit, newsstand operator Tisak [ZSE:TISK-R-A] and wholesaler Velpro, recorded EBITDA of 351.2 million kuna in the eight months through August, above the planned figure of 311.8 million kuna. The combined revenue of Konzum, Tisak and Velpro totalled 8.969 billion kuna.
