April 11 (SeeNews) - The inflow of foreign direct investments (FDI) into Croatia fell to 2.741 billion euro ($2.943 billion) last year, compared to 3.409 billion euro in 2022, central bank data showed.
Last year, the FDI inflows were the lowest in the last three years, according to preliminary figures released by the central bank on Wednesday.
In 2021, FDI stood at 3.952 billion euro.
In 2023, Croatia attracted its largest volume of foreign investment, totaling 671.4 million euro, from Austria. Following closely were the Netherlands, investing 545.1 million euro, and Germany, contributing 542.2 million euro.
The sectors which attracted the biggest volume of investment by non-residents in 2023 were real estate with 570.2 million euro, manufacturing of pharmaceuticals products with 503.3 million euro and retail with 203.5 million euro.
