May 20 (SeeNews) - Croatian shipbuilding company Brodosplit will build a second ship for Oceanwide Expeditions, which is scheduled for delivery in October 2021, news wire Cruise Industry News reported.
Oceanwide Expeditions' owner Wijnand Van Gessel told the agency last week that his company has good experience with Brodosplit, which is due to deliver the first expedition ship, named Hondius, later this month for an early June christening in the Netherlands.
“The Hondius is very good quality at a decent price. The shipyard has maintained the delivery dates and this is the most important thing in the industry,” Van Gessel said.
Hondius has a maximum capacity for 196 guests, or 174 at double occupancy, he added.
The new ship will be named Janssonius after the famous Dutch cartographer.
Split-based Brodosplit designs and builds ships including tankers, product/chemical/bulk carriers, container vessels, passenger vessels, car passenger ferries and more.
